Old Dolls House

Opening the Little Red Door...

Welcome to my little corner of the world -

let me tell you a bit about who I am and why I set up this shop!

Several years ago, I ran a bricks-and-mortar shop that sold collectibles of all kinds. I never opened it with the intention of specialising in the "youth market", but a lot of items - ranging from a WW1 era teddy bear to a succession of high-end dolls' houses and a Victorian coachbuilt doll's pram - found their way to me, and I developed a reputation for having a good selection of quality items in this field.

Now that I have relocated and taken my shop online I've decided to focus solely on children's collectibles. Why these in particular? Well... let me tell you about the lady who sold me the doll's pram (and several other items).

I remember saying that it must be hard for her to let them go. She replied that she knew they would end up in a skip after she passed away - because none of her grown-up children liked them. But she wanted them to find a new home ... with someone who would love them as much as she and her mother and grandmother had loved them.

I sold all those items in less than a week - there are lots of you out there who treasure items that are little pieces of history - and it's because of people like you that the

Little Red Door online shop was born.
